SnowOnly focuses only on ski properties “agents know that any potential buyer viewing their property is already passionate about the snow industry and has the means to buy and maintain a ski property – resulting in more qualified leads.”The site describes itself as “fully impartial” with no commission charged on sales and all purchase enquiries passed directly to the seller to follow up.

Charges starting from 79 Euros a month for up to 50 property listings for agents and 99 Euros a month for developers and private sellers. As an introductory offer the portal is offering estate agents six months access to the site free of charge, with no commitment to sign up at the end of the trial.

Ski properties are something of a challenge to sell to British buyers in an era when Sterling is in the doldrums, Brexit uncertainty and global warming leading to a downturn in ski interest. The portal admits that many ski properties take a year or more to sell.

“It is easy to see why they traditionally don’t sell as fast as other investment properties – potential buyers either need to trawl through general property portals to find something in the area they wish to buy, or they have to visit the websites of each agent based in their chosen resort, it is simply not an efficient process” explains Mark Lightfoot, the portal owner and founder.

“Whilst, of course, there is no denying that sales will be made in this way, there are not enough buyers to satisfy the demand of sellers – it is clear that more buyers are required.”
